GlobalTop Technology Inc. has today announced the appointment of Sean Tsai as the new chief executive officer of GlobalTop, one of the leading M2M module vendors globally.

Sean Tsai succeeds Donna Hu, who has stepped down as the CEO and will proceed to become vice chairman of the group as a part of a transition plan. Donna will continue to remain in an advisory role supporting Sean and GlobalTop.

GlobalTop has made significant progress in positioning module business, since its inception. During the last year alone, the company has expanded its global operations through new distributors, and diversified its portfolio by offering short-range module technologies such as BLE and Wi-Fi M2M modules, all the while reporting an overall 30% percent growth across the board.

GlobalTop has acquired a great deal of M2M talent within a short period of time to help shape the company’s future. Following Sean is the appointment of Sam Khan as the new global head of Sales and Marketing.

About Sean Tsai

Sean Tsai has held various senior positions at some of the leading manufacturers in the Telecom industry. He worked with Enterprise and Telecom solutions at Alpha Networks (a D-Link spin-off) and later at Accton Technology. He joined Zyxel’s European product strategy management team, working with all Tier-1 MNO’s in Europe. At Radinet, a successful 4G & M2M solutions startup, he worked as VP of Sales & Marketing,as well as a member of core management team. Sean joined GlobalTop in late 2013 as VP of GNSS business. In 2014, he was appointed as Chairman of G-Vision; a leading US-based LCD Manufacturer and a sister company of GlobalTop; a position that he will continue to hold concurrently as the new CEO of GlobalTop.

Sam has worked in the ICT and Telecom sector for ten years, with the last four being spent dedicatedly within the M2M and IOT market segments. Prior to GlobalTop Sam worked as the European Sales Director of Quectel Wireless Solutions, a leading cellular modules vendor. He also worked as a Senior Account Manager in ZTE Corporation for many years, focusing on terminals and cell phones. Sam has comprehensive knowledge of the IOT ecosystem and an expert in distribution sales and marketing of M2M modules.
